My name is Cathy DeBruyne, pack leader here at Broadway. Along with my daughter and breeding partner, RaeAnn, we strive to raise our puppies with fabulous temperments, excellent conformation, and enthusiastic working abilities. We currently have four Tollers, two Goldens, and an assortment of humans in residence.
We're located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes. You certainly couldn't ask for a better setting for raising retrievers! While we would like to be located on a real lake, we still have our day jobs, so we had to improvise with a man-made lake in our back yard. Our dogs LOVE to swim and retrieve from our in-ground pool and spend hours in the water daily during the months of May to early October.
In the winter, our pals spend most of their play time chasing one another or chasing the squirrels brave enough to venture into our large yard. While I moan and complain about the coming winter, you can almost hear the relief from the dogs when the weather turns cold. If I was wearing a fur coat all the time, I suppose I'd feel the same.
Broadway Tollers is named for my love of musicals. From the Sound of Music to Oklahoma! to Les Miserables, I've never seen a musical I didn't enjoy. While RaeAnn doesn't enjoy musicals, we both share a love of the MInnesota Twins baseball team. The call names, and many times the registered names, of our Tollers reflect our love for the Twins.
